Commenting on this, domestic labor affairs specialist, Bassam Al-Shammari, denied that changing the age of domestic workers or increasing their age will have any effect on Filipinos entering Kuwait, pointing out that “Kuwaiti offices respect the conditions that labor exporting countries want to apply.

Regarding the situation of Filipino domestic workers in the Kuwaiti market, Al-Shammari said that “the general situation of the national labor market is stable and there is a positive movement of new contracts, but the costs associated with travel tickets and contracts are still high. and do not correspond to the pricing of the Ministry of Commerce which set the price at 890 dinars.

He pointed out that the price of tickets for the Filipino worker’s trip to Kuwait is “one way”, and is currently between 275 and 295 dinars, expecting a revision of the pricing of new office contracts, by the ministry. du Commerce, noting that “dissociating the ticket from the price in force could be a satisfactory solution for all parties, the price of the office contract is 890 dinars, without the transport ticket at the expense of the contract holder. It should be noted that the number of Filipino domestic workers in the country increased in the first three months of this year to 141,000 workers, an increase of 5,631 from the figures recorded at the end of last year. .
